Before buying gold jewellery in Singapore, read the seller’s exchange terms and keep the receipt, tags and packaging. At Guild Bullion, change-of-mind purchases may be exchanged within seven days of receiving the item if the policy conditions are met; change-of-mind refunds are not offered. A damaged, defective or incorrect item is a different situation, so contact the store promptly. Always read the current Guild Bullion refund and exchange policy before purchasing, because terms can change.
Exchange, refund and repair: know which question you are asking
An exchange means returning an eligible item and choosing another. A refund returns payment. A repair addresses a problem with the item. These outcomes are not interchangeable. If you simply prefer a different design after purchase, the store’s voluntary change-of-mind policy matters. If the goods are defective or do not match the contract, separate Singapore consumer protections may apply. The Consumers Association of Singapore (CASE) explains the Lemon Law and notes that a simple change of mind is not a Lemon Law claim. Ask the seller which process applies to your circumstances.
Guild Bullion’s current change-of-mind terms
Guild Bullion’s published policy offers a seven-day exchange window from the date you receive the item. The jewellery must be unworn or unused, with tags attached and original packaging, and you need the original receipt or other proof of purchase. Contact the store for approval before returning anything; unapproved returns are not accepted. Under the current policy, approved exchanges are for another item of equal or greater value, with an additional charge if the replacement costs more. Check the full policy for the latest wording.
Customised or personalised products, sale or promotional items, and gift cards are excluded from the voluntary change-of-mind exchange policy. If a piece is being bought as a gift, check whether it is eligible before paying. Do not assume that a discount or special order has the same exchange terms as a regular item.
A five-point checklist before checkout
- Confirm the exact item. Check the design, stated gold purity, measurements and product options. Ask the store if any material detail is unclear.
- Check fit and proportions. A ring or bangle can look different on the hand than in a product image. Use the jewellery size guide and ask for measurements if anything is unclear. For rings, read our ring resizing guide before relying on alteration later.
- Read exclusions. Ask whether the specific piece is customised, personalised or promotional and whether those terms affect a change-of-mind exchange.
- Save purchase evidence. Retain the receipt or order confirmation, and check that it identifies the item. Our jewellery receipt checklist explains what details to review.
- Plan the handover. If a gift recipient may need to exchange a piece, keep the tags and packaging intact and share the proof of purchase and deadline with them.
What to do when your order arrives
Inspect the jewellery soon after delivery or collection, before wearing or altering it. Compare the item with your order, and look for obvious damage or a missing component. If it is incorrect, damaged or defective, contact Guild Bullion immediately so the issue can be assessed and a suitable resolution arranged. Keep clear photographs, your order number and the packaging. The store’s voluntary change-of-mind exclusions do not remove rights that may apply to defective, damaged or incorrectly supplied goods under Singapore consumer law; CASE offers consumer assistance information if a dispute cannot be resolved directly.
How to request an exchange with Guild Bullion
Contact Guild Bullion via WhatsApp at +65 9770 2921 with your order details and the item you would like to exchange. Wait for approval and return instructions before visiting or sending the item. The return address in the current policy is Tetrad Pte. Ltd., 810 Geylang Road #01-38, Singapore 409286. The shop is open Sunday 11am–6pm; Monday to Saturday visits are by appointment only, 11am–6pm. Contact the store before making an in-person return.
Example: a gift bracelet that is not the right style
Suppose a recipient prefers a different bracelet after receiving an unworn gift. First, check that the request falls within seven days of receipt and that the item was not customised or sold as a promotional item. Keep the tags, original packaging and receipt. Then contact Guild Bullion to ask whether the preferred replacement is eligible and whether a price difference applies. If the bracelet was worn, altered or returned without prior approval, the published change-of-mind conditions may not be met. Asking before purchase can save an awkward exchange later.
