Start with your daily routine
Think about where the jewellery will sit and what it may touch. A projecting ring design, dangling bracelet detail or long necklace may feel different at a desk, while commuting or during hands-on work. Choose a shape you can wear comfortably, and remove jewellery when an activity could catch, crush or damage it.
Check size before style
- Rings: confirm the sizing system used in the listing. If unsure, arrange a fitting rather than guessing from a photograph.
- Bracelets: check the stated length, any adjustable range and the clasp. Consider how much movement you prefer around your wrist.
- Necklaces: check the chain length and whether a pendant is included. A product photograph may show styling that is not part of the purchase.
- Earrings: ask about the fastening and dimensions if those details are not clear.
Ask about construction
Two pieces with similar appearances can differ in thickness, weight and construction. Ask whether a design is hollow or solid, especially when comparing broad links or larger shapes. Neither a product’s photograph nor its purity alone tells you how it will respond to pressure or wear.
Look closely at links, connecting rings, clasps and raised details. If a feature could catch on clothing or feels awkward to fasten, consider a different design. The best choice is one that matches both your preferences and the practical demands of wearing it.
